Parris McKenna Design is a boutique interior design firm specializing in whole home renovations and custom builds across the Greater Toronto Area and Muskoka. With an aesthetic rooted in the West Coast’s natural landscapes, we create timeless, warm, and highly curated spaces.

We are seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced design studio. The Junior Designer will work closely with our Senior & Intermediate Creative Designers and Senior Technical Designer, contributing to the design process while managing day-to-day tasks that keep projects moving forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design Support

  • Assist the Senior Designer with sourcing furniture, finishes, lighting, and materials.

  • Prepare presentation boards, moodboards, and design packages.

  • Support the Senior Technical Designer by organizing drawings, updating plans, and preparing redline markups in Revit.

  • Documentation & Coordination

  • Organize and maintain project binders, specification sheets, and digital files.

  • Take meeting notes and track design revisions.

  • Assist with preparing construction drawing sets, elevations, and schedules as directed.

  • Coordinate samples, vendor pricing, and specification requests.

  • Procurement & Administration

  • Liaise with suppliers and showrooms to order samples, gather quotes, and confirm lead times.

  • Track product details and maintain procurement logs.

  • Support the procurement specialist with purchase orders, deliveries, and follow-ups as needed.

  • Studio & Client Engagement

  • Prepare design boards, samples, and printed documents for client meetings.

  • Participate in site visits for measurement, photography, and design documentation.

  • Maintain and update the material library, ensuring organization and availability.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a recognized institution.

  • 1–3 years of professional design experience (internships included).

  • Proficiency in Revit (required), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and MS Office/Google Workspace.

  • Strong eye for design and detail, with an understanding of contemporary and transitional styles.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Confident communication and collaboration skills with both team members and vendors.

  • Proactive attitude—able to anticipate needs and take ownership of tasks.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between Toronto and Muskoka for site visits.
