senior Interior designer - full time
We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead our Muskoka-based projects from concept to completion. Working closely with our Creative Director for initial design direction, you will own the execution — from sourcing and specifying materials to managing budgets, overseeing installation, and delivering a seamless client experience. You’ll partner with a Senior Technical Interior Designer to bring concepts to life with precision and detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Ownership – Take overall design direction from the Creative Director and manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring all elements are executed to the highest standard.
Design Development – Source, select, and specify all finishes, fixtures, furniture, fabrics, and accessories in alignment with the project’s vision.
Project Management – Oversee timelines, budgets, and schedules; liaise with trades, vendors, and consultants; and ensure deadlines are met.
Client Management – Serve as the primary point of contact for Muskoka projects, providing consistent communication, managing expectations, and ensuring an exceptional client experience.
Collaboration – Work closely with the Senior Technical Interior Designer to coordinate all drawings and technical documentation, ensuring design intent is fully realized.
On-Site Oversight – Conduct regular site visits in Muskoka to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure installations meet quality standards.
Implementation – Oversee furniture installation, styling, and final project handover.
Qualifications:
7+ years of interior design experience in high-end residential projects, preferably with experience in waterfront or cottage country builds/renovations.
Proven ability to lead projects independently, from design concept through to completion.
Exceptional sourcing skills with a strong network of suppliers, artisans, and vendors.
Strong project management skills — detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in problem-solving.
Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
Comfort working on-site in Muskoka on a regular basis.
Proficiency in design software (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.); familiarity with Revit is an asset but not required.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between Toronto and Muskoka.
